A personal message to Kim Jong Un:
Kim,
Young man [I have children older than you]:
I know you were educated in the West
and speak, read, and understand English perfectly.
Anyone who uses the word "dotard" has a pretty comprehensive vocabulary, I would say.
The word "dottering" came to my mind as in "dottering old man."
So maybe I am among the few that got what you meant right away.
I realize that your intelligence services must know about this page. I hope you read this soon!
But I must tell you that you are wrong about Mr. Trump. He is as sharp as a tack.
But I am writing this to you. I am worried about your safety, as a person.
You don't need to worry about U.S. firepower. You are more likely to die at the hands of someone right in the room with you, where ever you go in your country. If something happens to you, what will happen to your wife?
Things are starting to get a little crazy over there, yo?
I think you are in way over your head. And that's not a put down. Things get big quick in this modern age.
People are SCARED of you buddy. Terrified, actually.
But I am also worried about all potential casualties of a war or any level conflict. So unnecessary here.
The world consensus is that you need to go. Even the UN sobered up long enough to say so.
These nukes, man...no good. No good.
But what will it take? What will it cost?
I think this crisis is the opportunity of a lifetime for you.
You can go from monster to hero in an hour's time. You can turn the world's fear into the love of the world. You can be like a Rock Star overnight.
You will be the one who saves Korea. Historic, and unprecedented.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. There will be many steps, but you can start with one. You can work out the details later. Politics. Easy.
Pick up the phone, call for a driver, get in the car and go to an air base, get on the plane and fly to a U.S. military base in Japan. The Japanese are unequalled in the world of protocol and military courtesy. You will be well-treated. Just walk out of the room and keep going. Have your wife meet you on the airstrip. Or send for her later. Bring nothing. Just get your fanny on that plane.
Ask for asylum in America, to be allowed to govern in absentia, and offer to help wind down your military and diffuse this current situation. Forget the nukes. Then call for elections in the North at some future date, and let the people choose a leader and form a new government. You can make sure it's done right. You'll still be president. Just stay the hell out of Korea, at least for a good while.
Just, be NICE. Simple as that. Lighten UP. The weight will come off of your shoulders. You can enjoy life for a while.
Then the world brings the food, the fuel, the technology everything needed to fix up your country and bring real prosperity to your population. South Korea will be jealous! Everybody wants to help. America wants to help. The Chinese want to help. To avoid a war? Hell yes!
It's been a long time coming, my friend.
You'll never want for anything for the rest of your life, where ever you live. Just tell us what you want. Cheaper than a war! So walk, don't run out that door. Head for Japan!
Good luck and God Bless.
Your friend in America,
Alex
